September 2003

Saturday 20th September - Watched The Italian Job last night, is not bad. They shouldn't have called it that, cos whilst it is heavily influenced by the original, it's not a remake of it. Lets just see what we have coming up at the cinema before Christmas... :)

Thursday 18th September - Have just walked home from a club in town on my own, for the 2nd time this week. Had 1 pint and proceeded to fill a nearby drain with what I'd eaten for dinner. This sucks. I'm going to the doctor ASAP. I MUST get well for the coming weekends.

On the walk into town, I was adjusting my cufflink, and I genuinely walked face first into a lamp post. My hand actually hurt more than my head, but I was more stunned that I had actually walked into a lamp post!

Muse - Absolution - The new album - out Monday 22nd... I can hardly contain my excitment!!

Here is the master plan for the next few weekends, for my reference if nothing else...!

This weekend: Sleep! All weekend!

27th/28th Sept: Get train to Aberystwyth for Pete's 21st. Come back on the train Monday 29th. Not go to Loughborough.

4th/5th Oct: Get the train down on Friday 3rd. Spend the weekend in Loughborough. Get a lift back Sunday evening.

1st/2nd Nov: Go home for Mum's birthday

Monday 15th September - Have just walked home from a club in town on my own, cos I was feeling sick before we even started, drank 3 bottles and found it hard to talk or breathe without feeling sick. I am getting really tired of being ill now, it's just some stupid cough which makes me nearly hurl at random points during the day. I'm getting pretty good at holding it back though.

Just to make the week even better, I didn't get paid today, apparently I've been "inadvertantly made dormant" on the payroll. What a great company I work for... bastards. Oh well, it makes me feel OK about only doing about 30 minutes productive work per day!

In other news... I had to give back the car I've been using all summer :( - Very distressing. I now have my own 2 legs and thats it. Back to the captivity of begging for lifts and using public transport (like Virgin Trains yesterday, who took 1 hour to actually leave Derby).

Sorry this has been a bit of a negative rant, I'll finish on a positive note... I SAW MATCHBOX TWENTY LAST MONDAY!! :-D

Monday 8th September - Went to see Matchbox Twenty in Manchester - SO GOOD!!! They truly are one of the best bands in the world!! We had a bit of trouble actually getting the tickets though cos I found a guy on ebay selling 4 at face value (£20) so gave him a ring and arranged to meet up, but when I phoned on the way into Manchester he said he'd sold all the tickets to someone just a couple of minutes before.

I became Mr Angry Jimbo, and got out of him the phone number of the people he'd just sold them to and rang them up and told them not to bother cos THE TICKETS WERE MINE!!! Anyway, we eventually tracked this guy down and bought them for £20 each. Silly man, he could have easily sold them for double that to anyone outside the venue! Oh well, his loss, our amazing gain!!

Sunday 7th September - First week of new placement was very long and dull, hopefully will get more interesting very soon. Looked at my bank balance and my heart skipped a beat. Pay day in 8 days!! Went down to Loughborough yesterday to help marshall the British Regional under-16s Triathalon, which was cold and wet mainly, but really cool to see Jo again. David Collett RAG 2003/2004 is alive and kicking!! I also went to see Matt and JK in their new house - nicer than the last one!

I'm going to see Matchbox Twenty in Manchester tomorrow. I can't wait!! Matchbox Twenty! Matchbox Twenty! Matchbox Twenty! YAY!!

I'm now entering the last week of the use of my car, then it goes home for Robert to learn to drive in (grrr...). We got our broadband working in our house today, after days of failure, and the builders have finally left!

Hope you like the new fight this week, Ellen and Kim...! I get my free mobile minutes reset in 45 mins so I'll finally be able to ring people without it feeling like my balls are being dragged across sandpaper. Too much detail? Get over it!
