We woke up at 3:30am to start our ascent of Helvellyn at 4:30am. The climb was quite steep, but this was good as we made good progress and reached the summit in 2 hours, just ast the cloud lifted on a beautiful day!
As the summit stands 950m above sea level, we had a fantastic panoramic view for miles, with the clouds below us!
Coming down was a bit dodgy - it was a rocky staircase all the way down which did our knees no good!
