Wednesday 19th June 2002 All day -
Our first mountain was Ben Nevis in Scotland. At 1343m above sea level, it is the tallest mountain in Britain.
We started climbing at around 9am as this was the only peak on this day. The walk up and down was fairly long and tedious, as there were a lot of zig zags, which get you up the mountain gently but slowly.
The summit was covered in cloud, and very cold and windy, so we took refuge in the shelter and Jock treated us to his Jaffa cakes - now an established tradition!
